Our Process

Two Essential Appointments

To ensure you get the perfect match and fit, we offer a comprehensive process:

 

1, Initial Consultation & Color Matching: Book your initial consultation to discuss your hair goals and get expertly color-matched by one of our talented stylists.

2. Fit & Blend: Once your extensions arrive, we'll schedule a fitting appointment to ensure they blend perfectly with your natural hair. This service also includes a shampoo, blowout, and placement lesson so you know how to take care of your new extension piece.

Custom Coloring

For the Perfect Match

At Prickly Pear Salon, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide custom coloring services. Our team of skilled stylists will ensure your HaloCouture Extensions are tailored to match your hair color and style, creating a flawless, natural look.

If your Halo needs to be custom colored to match, color services will be charged in alignment with our Color Sessions, according to the amount of product and time used.

Policies

Deposits & Ordering

Please note that a non-refundable deposit is required when scheduling a consultation. This deposit is solely for the time utilize during your consultation and cannot be applied towards the purchase of your HaloCouture Extensions.

 

HaloCouture Extensions must be paid in full before ordering. Shipping can take 1-5 business days depending on the shipping method. When your HaloCouture order arrives, we will reach out to schedule your Install & Blend appointment. If we need to custom color your extensions, we will let you know the cost and when the service has been completed.

  • How do I book an appointment?
    All NEW GUESTS and guests who have not been to the salon in 6+ months are required to fill out our Digital Consultation Form before booking an appointment. This allows us to make sure that we are a good fit and to recommend the proper services. You can do so by visiting our NEW GUEST page where there is detailed information about our process. Once we receive your form, we will contact you via email with the recommend service to book and detailed instructions on how to do so. ​ If you are a RETURNING GUEST, you can head to the RETURNING GUEST page to book your appointment!
  • How far in advance should I book an appointment at Prickly Pear Salon?
    Since we are a small team, the availability of appointments varies based on the type of service you need, the time required for the appointment, your preferred day and time, and our current demand. For a haircut guests, we can typically accommodate you within 2 weeks. However, if you're looking to book an extensive color service, it's best to plan ahead and book out 6-8 weeks in advance. Additionally, appointments on nights and weekends are particularly popular and tend to fill up quickly, so we highly recommend scheduling those as early as possible.
  • Do you offer walk-ins or same-day appointments?
    Due to demand and the way we structure our appointments, we are unable to accomodate walk-in appointments and are rarely able to offer same-day appointments. If you are looking for a last-minute opening, we recommend following us on Instagram where we post all of our last-minute openings for each stylist on a regular basis!
  • What are your hours?
    Our hours are as follows: Tuesday: 10am - 6pm Wednesday & Thursday: 10am - 7pm Friday & Saturday: 10am - 6pm We work on a rotating schedule, either Tuesday-Friday or Wednesday-Saturday to allow our team ample time to rest and recharge. We update our hours on Google weekly and recommend checking Google for our most up-to-date hours!
  • How do I know what service to book?
    If you are a New Guest and have completed your Digital Consultation Form, you will receive an email response recommending which service to book.
  • I need to cancel/reschedule my appointment! How do I do so?
    We ask that you give us 48 hours notice for any and all cancellations. We understand that emergencies do happen, but out of respect for your stylist please give us the time to fill your appointment. ​ You may cancel your appointment through any of the following methods: - Text or call us at 919-884-5740 (don’t forget to leave a message if you get our voicemail!) - Online through our Vagaro booking link - By emailing us at info@pricklypearsalon.com
  • What are your pricing policies? Why is there an Environmental fee?
    Pricing varies among stylists and color sessions, as our pricing is based on expertise, time, and product used. Our Environmental Fee ($1 for cut services / $2 for color services) allows us to be a sustainable salon through SalonCycle. The Environmental Fee helps to offset the cost of recycling materials such as hair clippings, foils, excess color, and snack wrappers that our local recycling center cannot accept.
  • Do you offer services such as wedding hair, kids cuts, perms, etc?
    We are a specialized salon that focuses on lived-in color and wearable cuts. Unfortunately, we do not offer the following services: - Kid's haircuts - Wedding/Prom/Special occasion hair - Perms However, we love to network with other local salons and are more than happy to provide a referral upon request!
  • Can I bring a snack or drink?
    Yes, absolutely! We encourage our guests to take care of their needs, especially if they will be joining us for a long color appointment. We offer water, coffee, tea, and sparkling water as well as snacks including chocolates, Milano cookies, and pretzels. You are also more than welcome to order food delivery while you’re in the salon!
  • I work from home, can I bring my laptop?
    Of course! We have free wifi and a co-working area for you to quietly work while your hair color is processing.
